The Mental Game Audit

She has the skill. So why isn't it showing up in games?

You have seen what your daughter can do in practice. But when the pressure is on, she may hesitate, overthink, play cautiously, or struggle to recover after mistakes. The Mental Game Audit helps identify what may be getting in the way and gives her a personalized 90-day plan for what to work on next.

You are not imagining the difference

You've seen the player she can be.

In practice she can look decisive, aggressive, and free. Then game day arrives and something changes.

Practice

She just plays.

Attacks the opening Takes the shot Makes quick decisions Looks like herself
Games

She starts thinking.

Hesitates Looks toward the bench Gets stuck on mistakes Plays cautiously
01
She passes up a shot she normally takes.

You know she can make it. She knows she can make it. But hesitation gets there first.

02
One mistake changes the next several possessions.

Instead of the turnover ending with the possession, she carries it with her.

03
She starts watching everyone else's reaction.

Coach. The bench. You. The crowd. Her attention leaves the game and turns inward.

04
You keep telling her how good she is, but it does not seem to help.

The problem is not that she has never heard the words "be confident." She may need skills she can actually train.

"Why can't she just play the way I know she can?"
The problem may not be more basketball

More reps may not fix what is happening.

She may already have the physical skill. But when pressure shows up, her attention can shift from competing to evaluating herself.

She does not need another person telling her to "just be confident." She needs to understand what is getting in the way and what she can train.

What may be running through her head
What does Coach think?
Am I about to get taken out?
What if I miss again?
My parents saw that turnover.
Do not mess up.

Instead of reacting to the game, she can end up reacting to everything she is thinking about the game.

Meet the Mental Game Audit

Stop guessing. Get a personalized look at what is happening.

You and your daughter complete a structured assessment. I review her responses, identify the patterns that stand out, and build a personalized plan around what appears to matter most for her.

This is not a generic confidence quiz, therapy, or another motivational pep talk.
01 • REPORT

Personalized Mental Game Audit Report

I email you a personalized report explaining the patterns I identified, the areas that appear to be affecting her performance most, and the priorities I recommend addressing.

02 • VIDEO

Private Video Breakdown

A personalized video from me explaining what I am seeing, what stands out, and where I believe she should focus first.

03 • PLAN

Personalized 90-Day Mental Game Plan

A clear roadmap, included in her report, for the mental performance priorities she should focus on over the next 90 days, with specific recommendations for how to begin.

04 • PRACTICE

An Immediate Tool She Can Use

At least one practical mental performance strategy she can begin practicing on the court right away.

Built on the Mentally StrongHer™ Method

A real framework behind the Audit.

The Mental Game Audit is not based on random mindset tips or a generic confidence quiz. I use my 9-step Mentally StrongHer™ Method to look at the mental skills that influence how an athlete prepares, responds to pressure, recovers from mistakes, focuses, builds confidence, and reflects on performance.

Your daughter’s assessment helps me identify where she is already strong, where she may be getting stuck, and which areas deserve the most attention over the next 90 days.

01 • ASSESS

Understand what is happening now.

I look at the patterns showing up in pressure, confidence, focus, mistake recovery, self-talk, routines, and competition.

02 • IDENTIFY

Find the priorities.

I identify the areas most likely to be affecting how she competes so the plan is focused instead of overwhelming.

03 • PLAN

Build her 90-day direction.

Her personalized report turns those findings into clear mental performance priorities and practical next steps for the next 90 days.

The Audit identifies what needs attention. Ongoing coaching, when appropriate, is where those skills can be trained, practiced, adjusted, and reinforced over time.
How it works

Simple. Personalized. No scheduling required.

You do not need to find an open hour on everyone's calendar. Complete the intake when it works for you, then I do the analysis.

01

Parent + athlete complete the assessment.

You share what you are seeing. Your daughter shares what she is actually experiencing before, during, and after competition.

02

I analyze the patterns.

I review strengths, challenges, pressure points, mistake response, self-talk, focus, routines, and the areas that appear to be interfering most with her performance.

03

I email you her personalized Mental Game Audit.

I email you the completed Mental Game Audit Report, including her personalized 90-day mental game plan, along with the private video breakdown and her immediate tool to practice.

Her completed report and private video breakdown are emailed to you within 5 business days after all required information is submitted.
Fit matters

This is for the athlete who has game, but pressure is getting in the way.

The goal is not to label her. It is to understand what is happening and give her a useful starting point.

This may be right for her if...

She plays better in practice than she does in games.
She hesitates even when she knows what to do.
A mistake affects several possessions afterward.
She worries about disappointing coaches or parents.
She passes up shots she normally takes.
She overthinks instead of reacting.
She is willing to work on the mental side of her game.

This is probably not the right fit if...

× She does not want to participate and is being forced into it.
× The primary issue is basketball skill development.
× You are looking for therapy or clinical mental health treatment.
× You want a guaranteed recruiting, playing-time, starting, or statistical outcome.
× You only want a pregame hype session without practice or follow-through.
What we are aiming for

The goal is not to make her fearless.

I am not promising she will never get nervous, never doubt herself, or never have another bad game. The goal is to help her understand what she needs to train so she can respond better when pressure shows up.

What parents want to see

The work needs to show up in the game.

The goal is not for her to become great at talking about confidence. It is for the mental skills to become useful when the game gets real.

After only a couple sessions with Coach Val, we saw a huge improvement! Her mental preparation for games was focused and her evaluation of her play after games was much more productive.
Parent
Questions parents ask

Before you get started.

Here are the things I would want to know too.

Is this therapy?
No. The Mental Game Audit focuses on sport performance skills such as confidence, focus, self-talk, routines, mistake recovery, attention, and performing under pressure. It is not therapy or a substitute for mental health treatment.
Does she have to be struggling badly to do this?
No. Mental performance skills can be trained just like physical skills. This is for competitive athletes who want to understand and strengthen the mental side of their performance.
What if she already has a basketball trainer?
That is fine. The Mental Game Audit does not replace basketball skill development. It focuses on whether she can access the skills she has already developed when pressure, mistakes, or self-doubt show up.
Does my daughter need to participate?
Yes. Her perspective matters. This works best when the athlete is willing to answer honestly and is open to working on her mental game.
What exactly do we receive?
I email you a personalized Mental Game Audit Report with my findings and recommendations, her personalized 90-day mental game plan, a private video breakdown from me, and at least one practical tool she can begin using right away.
How quickly will we receive it?
I will email you her completed Mental Game Audit Report and private video breakdown within 5 business days after all required information is submitted.
Is private coaching included?
No. The Mental Game Audit is a standalone assessment, personalized report, and 90-day plan. If I believe your daughter would benefit from ongoing coaching, I may recommend a next step. There is no obligation to continue working with me.
The Mental Game Audit

She does not need to become a different player.

She needs to learn how to trust the player she has already trained to become. Start by finding out what may be getting in the way and what she should focus on over the next 90 days.
